The Firm

Andersen has more than 1,000 personnel located in 19 cities across the U.S., with the Andersen Investment Consulting Services (ICS) Team located in McLean, VA. The Role
The Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient coordination and management of the operations process within the Investment Consulting Services (ICS) Practice. The Operations Manager will work closely with all members of the Investment Consulting team, our reporting partner Tamarac and custodians to ensure efficient and effective delivery of advice and services. The Operations Manager will need to teach, train, collaborate with and directly supervise staff and must have a high standard of client service, always looking for ways to deliver an exceptional experience to our clients and advisory teams.

The role will also require the Operations Manager to perform operational tasks to ensure the timely and effective delivery of service and advice. The Operations Manager should have strong client service skills, a passion for excellence and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

The Operations Manager is expected to perform the following:
– Coordinate the operations process and operations team to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of wealth management services.
– Design and lead the new client onboarding process; assist in the set-up of new client and additional client accounts.
– Communicate directly with clients and advisors regarding any operational, cashiering or service requests, inquiries, or issues.
– Work and communicate directly with strategic partners, money managers, vendors and custodians.
– Solve operational and administrative problems timely and effectively.
– Manage, mentor and inspire operations staff, including ongoing feedback and opportunities to collaborate so our team can gain valuable professional experience
– Participate in the generation of practice planning and development of deliverables.
– Assist with quarterly billing, performance report preparation and delivery.
– Maintain selected CRM tools to keep all client information up-to-date and manage communications to/from the client to keep the team well-informed of changes to a client situation, needs, or requests
– Understand our exposure to risk, adhere to all firm risk and control policies and work with compliance/COO as necessary.
– Maintain high professional expertise and continue to be a student of the profession; stay up to date on trends, best practices, and new technologies.
– Consistently exhibit a high level of professionalism to represent Andersen in the best possible way to ensure the highest possible reputation.

The Requirements
– 7+ years of relevant operations experience in the financial services industry, preferably with a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)
– Experience utilizing a CRM and working directly with Custodians and a Portfolio Management System on daily operational tasks. Working knowledge of Schwab and/or Tamarac is a plus.
– Self-motivated; ability to multi-task independently and prioritize to meet deadlines in a high-pressure fast pace environment
– Meticulous attention to detail; well organized and strong organizational skills
– Ability to lead and be a team player; advanced problem-solving skills
– Excellent communication & advanced problem-solving skills; ability to effectively solve problems with little or no guidance and in a timely fashion
– Ability to be proactive, and not reactive, to all aspects of daily job functions
– Professional demeanor, positive “can-do” attitude, and client service oriented
– Excellent skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
– Bachelor’s degree
