Certified Financial Group (Altamonte Springs, FL) Seeking Business Development Representative

Certified Financial Group, Inc. has an opening for a Business Development Representative position. The Business Development Representative is the link between marketing and sales efforts and will often be one of the first points of contact a prospective client has with our company. To excel in this role, the Business Development Representative should love talking on the phone, be an active listener, display an outgoing personality, and have a hunger to develop new business from inbound warm leads. This position does not require any cold calling.

The duties of this position will evolve over time depending on firm initiatives and the development of specific skill sets. Applicants should understand their duties may change on a day to day basis as they assist the Marketing, Advisory, or Administrative teams with projects of high priority to our clients and the growth of the firm.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Understand and articulate the company’s vision and mission, seeking to accomplish set goals and objectives
  • Conduct a steady volume of outbound phone calls to potential clients using warm leads that are provided to you
  • Qualify and route inbound leads from operator, communication programs, online form submissions, and referrals
  • Arrange meetings, provide customer service, solicit feedback, and help potential clients advance in the sales process
  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with new clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
  • Utilize Client Relationship Management database system (CRM) to enter data received from potential client
  • Maintain lead, prospect, and client information in the CRM, making updates as necessary
  • Assist planners with keeping the CRM sales funnel current to ensure accurate reporting
  • Collaborate with marketing to maintain sales dashboard and reporting
  • Suggest sales strategies, client service and retention plans, and analyze sales data to inform or update marketing strategies
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, team, and clients
  • Conduct market research and identify potential clients
  • Increase the value of current clients while attracting new ones
  • Develop goals for the development team and future business growth


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
  • Experience in sales, marketing or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and IT fluency
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to use CRM systems for data entry purposes
  • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
